The Tarot Project

Research has sugested a link between tarot readings and mental health. In psychotherapy, we don't work with just the mind but also with your consciousness. Tarot borrows from the same school of thought. It's a divination tool that taps directly into the higher consciousness and l wanted to portray this through fashion design. Does wearing the dress itself subconsciously impact a persons life? Working with E-Textiles optic fibre material to create an ethereal mini dress made from intricate tarot motifs on layers of pink tulle. The dress acts as a  tarot deck itself, and the wearer takes a "reading" in response to the embroidery they are most drawn to. The dress is inspired by various tarot card decks through my research, from the traditional Rider-Waite deck, to the modern, diverse 'Collective Tarot deck'.
